Who Are My Neighbors in Ambler?
Have you ever asked yourself, “Who are my neighbors in Ambler? What are their lives like? And how could I get to know them better?”? Well, this summer, Ambler Mennonite Church is asking those same questions, and we’re inviting you to come along for the ride. In July, August, and September, we’re bringing in guest speakers from five local organizations to tell us what they’re seeing and hearing as they work in the community. The schedule is below. If you’d like to join us for one or all of these presentations, just show up at our building (90 E Mt Pleasant Ave, Ambler, PA 19002) at 10:30 am on the Sunday in question. We’ll start with an introduction, some singing, and a Bible reading, and then we’ll hear from our speaker, with a time for Q&A to follow.
July 21: Jeanne Sorg, Mayor of Ambler Borough, will be talking to us about her work in local politics and what she’s seeing and hearing from our neighbors in the borough.
August 4: Laura Betterly and Kim Aldana, Directors of the Wissahickon Valley Boys & Girls Club, will be talking to us about the kids who are our neighbors.
August 18: Kristy Morley, Senior Naturalist at Wissahickon Trails, will be talking to us about the plants and animals that are our neighbors.
September 1: Mark Boorse, Director of Program Development at Access Services, will be talking to us about our neighbors who are homeless.
September 8: Eva O’Brien, Kelly Evans, Lauren Kellock, and Sue Kauffman DePuyt, founders of WeCare Ambler, will be talking to us about our neighbors who don’t have enough food.
