Over the bitterly cold weekend of January 30-February 1, our youth group gathered at Camp Hebron for its annual retreat. We chatted, we collaged, we board-gamed, we ate, we slept, we played in the snow, we prayed for our departing seniors, and, in general, we had a hoot. Photos by Randy, Nick, Caitlyn, and Raphael.
Where is the kingdom of God in the middle of all the evil going on in the world? We collaged what we think it might look like.Randy and Sally came along to do some babysitting.Who gave that boy the camera? On Saturday morning, we did Camp Hebron’s challenge course. Here, in the indoor portion, Michelle gets a sneaky look as she prepares to slap some hands. And onto the outdoor portion. Here, Sam, Jeremi, Sylvie, and Hannah are blindfolded and led away into the snowy wasteland.Isaiah, Jacob, Michelle, and Emily go too. Each of us has to follow the ropes to find our partner, whom we recognize by the secret handshake we’ve agreed on beforehand.Sylvie and Michelle have been reunited. So have Hannah and Emily. Now they have to find a way out of the rope maze.Emily, Noura, and Isaiah think deep thoughts as they wait for the others to finish. How can we cross this gap with only two planks of wood, neither of which will reach the whole way?And of course, we took turns entertaining the littles. Here, Caitlyn makes Hazel giggle.
